Physical/Mental State at Examination: Moderate health and condition. A middle aged man with a violent temper and who is continually striking out at the other patients (playfully). Very talkative.

Current Diagnosis: Delirium (F05.0)

Case Notes

1920 July 15 (copy) - Suffering from Mania.

He has been very mischievous and restless.

He has exalted ideas and states that he feels splendid and that he has great powers as a preacher.

He is continually talking and interfering with other patients.

Statements are rambling and disconnected.

23 - No improvement in mental condition.

In fair bodily health except that his eyes are weak and watering. Has Iritis of both.

Aug 22 - Suffering from severe Erysipelas.

Died 26th.

26th June 1914 (No. 8275) with Mania.

The Medical Certificate reads: Restless. Becomes violent if is not allowed to do as he likes.

Has done deal of damage to the walls of room he occupies.

His habits are dirty.

George Edwin Davies, Master, Bala Union Workhouse: Noisy restless and destructive. Not able to look after himself. Liable to harm other inmates.

Discharged recovered to Bala Workhouse on 27th November 1916.
