Additional Notes

This is probably the John Jones (Bridgend) admitted 10/06/1916 (No. 8681). On that occasion he was admitted from Valley Workhouse and his next of kin is given as Hannah Jones.

The Medical Certificate reads:

Very restless.

Has delusions, viz that people are putting poison in his food to poison him. That a knife has been stolen from him, so they can kill him.

That he is a policeman in order to protect himself against these people.

Richard Williams, Master, Cartref Valley: Crying and laughing alternately. Very restless at night and tries to abscond. Dirty in his habits, imagines that people want to poison him, also that he is a policeman to prevent people enlisting him under Lord Derby's Scheme.

He was discharged from the asylum recovered on Nov 24th 1917 after a month's trial.
