Physical/Mental State at Examination: Poor health. Very large goitre, staring eyes, rapid pulse. Always a quiet steady young man, until he began taking an active part in the Religious Revival meetings. Some change was noticed a few weeks ago but he became very much mentally deranged six days ago and became unmanageable. There is no history of insanity in the family. His goitre became very much bigger the last six days, according to his friends who brought him.

Current Diagnosis: Acute transient psychosis (F23)

1905 Mar 14 - A tall, fair young man with staring eyes and a very large goitre.

In rather poor bodily condition. Mentally suffering from Acute Mania of the religious type.

Continually talking, shouting, singing - spitting in people's faces and quite rambling and incoherent. Great motor restlessness.

Eats well, sleeps but little.

Mar 23 - Very much better in every way. Goes out of doors. Well behaved and now he sleeps well. Apr 8 - Quite well in every way. Is ready for discharge cured.

Apr 25 - Discharged cured.
