Dull vacant expression, I asked him the day of the week, he suggested Friday, but when asked what day yesterday he could not say. Asked when he came to town he said yesterday, he said he thought he was now in Liverpool. Evan Owen, P.C. 18, stationed at Bangor, stated that last night at midnight he found Rowland Davies in a field, running about naked, after capture he was not able to give any account of himself or explain his conduct, simply laughing vacantly when asked to explain. Physical/Mental State at Examination: Health very poor This man was found naked in a field near the suspension bridge, Bangor, he could give no account of himself although he was quite sober. He is supposed to be a labourer from Amlwch and is very probably a demented epileptic. No further history could be obtained.

Case Notes

1905 Mar 24 - A young man with dark brown hair, of average height, in poor bodily condition. Bluish grey irides, pupils equal and mobile.

In speech he stammers very badly.

His general organs are healthy. Mentally suffering from Dementia with Epilepsy. His memory is defective. He shows but little general intelligence and appears quite confused when asked any questions. He has had no fit since admission. He eats and sleeps well.

His habits are untidy but he has as yet shown no violence. Apr 15 - Still confused. Has had one severe fit. May 29 - No change, fits infrequent.

Sept - isq. 1906 Jan - Becoming more demented. June to Dec - No change. 1907 Mar - Very demented. Fits infrequent. July to Oct - No improvement. 1908 Jan to 1910 Feb - The same. 1910 June - A chronic demented epileptic. Fits rather less frequent. General health fair. Nov - isq. 1911 and 1912 - No further change. 1913 Oct 1 - He is sometimes very excited, useless, clean and tidy, has heavy fits, in poor health. 1914 Jan - Dull, stupid and intelligence at low ebb, has very heavy fits at times. Good health.
