Catherine Jones, his mother, that on Thursday last, he came home in an excited state, demanding unceccesary attention and repeating the fact he was not born again. Physical/Mental State at Examination: Health moderate. This man's father was a patient here about 20 years ago. This patient has latterly been a great reader of Shakespeare and of Religious Works and took part in a Religious Revival meeting. This is said to be the exciting cause of his attack. Always sober and industrious.

Current Diagnosis: Acute transient psychosis (F23)

Case Notes

1905 June 20 - A young man with a long oval face, dark hair, brown irides. In but moderate condition.

General organs healthy. Mentally suffering from Acute Mania with complete loss of control. Rambling and incoherent conversation, great restlessness and a dry brown tongue.

Quite unable to fix his attention upon anything or to understand any question. June 26 - Is now rather better and is beginning to answer questions more rationally and to look better.

July 7 - Much better in every way.

Makes himself useful. Discharged (cured) Aug 21st 1905.
