Patient's appearance is vacant, with paroxyms of excitement. He talks incoherently and constantly about religion, he keeps repeating verses with incoherent meaning. Has fits of crying, laughing and is at times violent and threatening. Patient's brother, Llewelyn Parry, of Maencoch, Llanwnda, informs me that he is in the habit of causing disturbances at religious meetings held at the Welseyan Chapel Llanwnda, makes an unnatural gutteral noise and kicks the side of the pew. Has struck him once on his head and has taken against a younger brother and has attempted to cause him bodily harm. Dr. George Williams, Tryfan Hall, Carnarvon.

Case Notes

1905 Oct 13 - A young man of fair complexion, rather short stature, square thin face and staring eyes. Blue irides, pupils equal and mobile.

Mental suffering from Mania. He has lost control of himself and is very obstinate. He makes peculiar noises when spoken to and refuses his food. Upon threats of the Tube he took his food. He walks about muttering to himself and has sudden periods of excitement. Oct 30 - Much better in every way.

Nov 24 - Much better and employed out with the Elect. Engineer. He ought to be soon ready for home. 1906 Jan 10 - Keeping very well so far and no signs of a relapse. Mar 8 - Had a relapse but is now better again and with the Engineer.

May 6 - Now ready for discharge.
