He has been under observation for about 12 months and treated with hypnotics. He is stupid, stares, refuses to answer questions and talks to himself. He thinks it better to die and told me that he tried to hang himself twice and that the world had gone wrong and was against him. His wife and the Revd. A. George, Bron Eilian, Llanberis, corroborate this evidence. He told his wife he would kill her and himself. She is afraid of him. He talks to himself about her being killed, he also told her he would get up in the night and put an end to his life in the lake. He took the picture cords down and she says she has seen marks of the cord on his neck at least twice. He wants to get out at night and ran out the other day in his shirt. He asked her to get a gun or a knife so as to do away with himself. He struggled to get hold of a lighted candle to set fire to the house. Dr. John Roberts, LRCP, Llanberis, 18th Mar 1920.
